Strategic Equity Solutions In-Business Risk manager

This In-Business Risk (IBR) AVP role will have global responsibilities for a book of both public and private equity margin loan financings. She/he will support the IBR team and analysts in the Mumbai team in conducting due diligence on collateral issuers with the transaction team as part of initial underwriting and will continue to monitor transactions through its life cycle. The position will directly support and report into SES In Business Risk, with a dotted line local reporting Manager in Mumbai.


+ Assist SES IBR team with collateral issuer credit analysis on new and existing margin loans, as well as other credit sensitive products (e.g., unlisted share / pre-IPO financing).

+ Work with senior members of IBR team and regional Originations teams (NAM, EMEA, APAC) on new and existing deals - from initial assessment to transaction memo review, booking, reporting and ongoing monitoring.

+ As a checker of the LP Financing/NAV Financing process, work with the Originations team on ensuring data accuracy Perform regular data checks and coordinate with operations to ensure accuracy and completeness of SES data, pull data for ad hoc requests.

+ Run ratings of non-credit managed issuers and private equity funds in the CAT/Citi Financial system Review memos and complete quality control checklists Complete regional annual review requirements for SES products, which includes working on issuer updates, assessing transaction metrics and collateral issuer financial performance, coordinating with Origination teams, helping to identify risks & mitigants, reviewing risk ratings and classification, ensuring timely data submission and accuracy.

+ Track quarterly earnings of issuers in the portfolio and provide timely earnings summary Assist in managing and monitoring trends and developments in the existing Margin Loan Book, and work on portfolio reports, as needed.

+ Assist with special projects and business initiatives including portfolio reviews, group policies and guidelines, regulatory requests, audit reviews, etc.

+ As a senior member and subject matter expert, provide day-to-day guidance to the team

+ Assist in managing workload and organizing work schedules. Be the primary touch point for new requests and deliverables.


+ 6-9 years in corporate finance and credit risk analysis skills required.

+ Strong organizational and data management skills, attention to detail and ability to coordinate deliverables across a variety of groups and multi-task.

+ Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to create presentation materials.

+ As a senior member of the team, ability to guide others and review the teams work to ensure good quality before submission.

+ Independent problem solving, strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present recommendations in a succinct manner and escalate issues in a timely manner.

+ Ability to foster working relationships with other leaders across multiple lines of business, demonstrated judgement and critical thinking skills.


+ Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience.
