Sr. Group Manager - Credit Controllers CECL Scenario and PPNR Review & Challenge Lead

The Credit Controllers team is hiring a Solutions Sr Group Manager to lead the Controllers Group's CECL Scenarios, Macroeconomic Variables and the Quarterly CCAR Pre-Provision Net Revenue Review & Challenge.

This role will act as a integral part of the Credit Controllers team, and will partner with the Enterprise Scenario Governance team in Risk, central PPNR team within Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and the business-aligned Controllers teams who will provide detailed review of the reasonableness of the Macro economic Variables, PPNR and balance sheet under the different scenarios prescribed. The role will assist in setting the strategic direction for Controllers as to how to articulate and execute these reviews and challenge responsibilities, and be a focal point for the execution of the process. This role provides significant opportunities for exposure to senior functional and business leadership across the firm.

This role will also organize & lead the business Controllers Quarterly Stress Forecast and CCAR Review and Challenge tasks in partnership with Capital Planning initiatives. In addition to working with business Controllers, the role will work with a wide range of stakeholders including but not limited to the Capital Planning Review Group, FP&A, Businesses, Risk and Treasury,

**Activities pertaining to the role include the following:**

+ Lead in outlining the specific steps necessary to demonstrate adequate due diligence over CECL estimation approaches, governance, processes and outputs.

+ Lead review and challenge in cooperation with Controllers and Risk colleagues in R&C of base and stress macroeconomic variable paths for use in CECL production on quarterly basis.

+ Lead in pressure testing the assumption, limitations and weaknesses of the firms PPNR estimation approaches, governance and processes, and where necessary, compensating controls and remediation strategies are put in place.

+ Lead in centrally coordinating the execution of the business controllers review and challenge responsibilities across all businesses.

+ Deliver thought leadership and support the implementation of changes, as necessary, to the CECL and PPNR frameworks

+ Support the CPRG Review and Challenge lead in representing Controllers in the PPNR governance forums to foster a holistic, principled approach to Citis overall PPNR framework.

+ Ensures effective, accurate and timely communication across functional areas, collaborating with the Controllers, Risk, Capital Planning Review Group, and FP&A/LFOs for any GCB IR&C related issues.

+ Ensures Review and Challenge processes are complete within established timelines.


+ 12+ Years of relevant experience

+ Strong knowledge of financial services, financial planning and analysis, accounting, regulatory reporting, CECL, and CCAR specific regulatory guidelines.

+ Experience managing a team of direct reports.

+ An undergraduate degree is required. An MBA, CPA or CFA is preferred.

+ Minimum 7 years of proven experience in driving results with a strong understanding of the financial services industry.

+ Previous experience in Risk Management, Controllers, FP&A, Treasury, or line of business management is preferred.

+ Exceptional communication skills, including well-developed verbal, written and presentation skills. Must be able to quickly create concise, informative executive summaries for senior management that convey a well-developed story and advocate for a well-reasoned point of view.

+ Strong leadership skills proven track record driving sustained change, ability to align teams and resources to fit the overall strategy, and to inspire confidence and provide common direction across functional peer groups.

+ Ability to provide complete, accurate and timely information to partners for reporting.

+ Excellent communication and presentation skills required to influence a wide range of audiences.

+ Ability to innovate and champion progress for efficiency and productivity.

+ Sense of urgency in implementing processes and evaluating priorities; decisive, action-oriented, and practical.

+ Highly motivated and goal-oriented with the ability to lead in a professional and challenging environment and deliver results against fast-paced deliverable deadlines.

+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under demanding timeframes and respond appropriately
