NCU is currently seeking a dynamic individual to become part of our Administration team as the Sr. Business Analyst / Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Reporting to the Provost, the Sr. Business Analyst / CFO is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting functions of the University. The Sr. Business Analyst / CFO primary responsibility is to ensure all areas under his/her supervision operate collaboratively and efficiently in advancing the Mission of the University and achieving annual and long-term strategic goals.  Further, the Sr. Business Analyst / CFO , in partnership with the President and Provost is responsible for the financial health of the organization. The Sr. Business Analyst / CFO in addition will have one-two direct reports.

Essential Functions

  • Develops operating budget and strategic plan and works with the President and CEO and Provost to ensure academic program success through proper resource allocation and operational and financial support.
  • Oversees financial and accounting system controls and standards and ensures timely financial and statistical reports.
  • Develops and maintains systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the University.
  • Oversees the coordination and activities of independent auditors ensuring all audit issues are resolved, all compliance issues are met and the preparation of the annual financial statements are in accordance with US GAAP and federal, state and other required supplementary schedules and information.
  • Directs the overall financial plans and accounting practices of the University.
  • Manage the university’s financial performance by developing forecasts and monitoring ongoing performance against plan.
  • Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information for actionable recommendations.
  • Oversee and grow an effective and efficient department.
  • Fiduciary responsibility for the financial health of the organization.
  • Oversees financial and accounting controls, treasury, accounting, payroll, reporting, budget, tax and audit activities of the University.
  • Liaise with Board of Trustee’s Audit and Finance Committees
  • Oversees and provides strategic direction to all Student and Financial Services teams, ensuring alignment to University mission and operating plans.
  • Reasonable and consistent attendance to fulfill requirements of the position

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex organizations
  • Knowledge of management and organizational leadership principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting computer applications.
  • Skill in strategic and financial planning.
  • Skill in taking initiative, exercising sound judgment, problem-solving and decision making.
  • Skill in short- and long-term financial planning, modeling and forecasting.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Skill in developing people and in building teams.
  • Ability and desire to be part of team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and other applications in the Microsoft Office suite


Education and Experience

  • Master’s or terminal degree from a regionally-accredited institution in Finance or related discipline
  • Five-Seven years of senior-level administrative experience in higher education in finance and financial aid
  • Experience in an higher education institution or company preferred
  • Knowledge of the online model of graduate education preferred but not required
  • Experience in higher education preferred
  • Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise preferred
  • All skills, abilities and education will be considered for minimum qualifications
