Against that backdrop, we are seeking a well-rounded technology leader to join our company in the role of Director, Technology Solutions. The Director will have complete accountability for the strategy, roadmap, portfolio management and delivery of technology solutions to support Humana's Enterprise Risk, Compliance and Human Resources operational areas. As such, this position requires deep knowledge about what is important to the business and the metrics that are used by the business to track operational success or failure, and how to leverage the right technology solutions to optimize business results. This Director will have significant and ongoing interaction with a wide range of key stakeholders and business partners. This will include business segment leadership, portfolio management, IT Operations and Infrastructure, Architecture, and external vendors, among others.This Director will have significant budget responsibility, as well as responsibility for leading a multi-level organization of well over 100 geographically dispersed individuals. We strongly prefer Louisville, KY as the location for this position, but will consider other locations on a case-by-case basis for exceptional candidates. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities + Lead segment innovation and foster a culture of innovation by identifying and introducing opportunities to build innovative technology and business solutions, including supporting the introduction of new approaches, methods, and tools by leveraging industry-leading practices. + Establish/update long-term application management strategy and direction that is integrated with Portfolio Management, and is consistent with the business and architecture plans + Propose technology solutions to enable delivery of strategic initiatives; Work with the business to develop a robust business case, with business value and metrics + Ensure synchronization of dependencies across development projects within a specific funding portfolio + Influence leaders to make key strategic decisions with regards to key IT vendors, relationships and technologies. Work with the business to define, prioritize, and manage projects that align with the business and IT strategy, for annual strategic planning + Oversee internal development efforts and any packaged software selection with a bias towards leveraging industry-leading commodity software solutions. + Efficient and effective portfolio management + Provide leadership to a team of technology professionals, driving associate engagement initiatives, developing and managing talent, and leading change efforts. Key Candidate QualificationsThe ideal candidate will be a technical visionary, with proven ability to shape solutions that provide value to the organization and that mesh with larger business strategies. This person will have demonstrated experience working across a breadth of platforms and technologies (e.g., mainframe, client/server, internet) and have a strong track record in application and technology delivery. He/she will be a strong leader of people with a record of success in expanding and elevating the capabilities and performance of a team of appropriate size. This person will also embrace accountability and have a passion for continuously improving consumer experiences. In addition to the above, the following technical qualifications and personal attributes are sought: + Solid understanding of operations, technology, communications and processes + Experience in Agile software development methods + Experience in SOA and integration + Experience in SaaS, and other cloud based computing services and integration + Experience in HR and Risk Management systems (i.e., WorkDay, Archer, etc.) + Extensive and progressive experience leading continuous improvement efforts, evaluating existing systems and implementing process improvements. + A record of success in attracting, developing, and motivating top talent from inside and outside of the organization, and preparing direct reports for expanded responsibilities + Experience in managing change by leading and energizing others, modeling adaptability, and inspiring strong organizational performance through periods of transformation, ambiguity, and complexity. + Excellent relationship-building skills and proven ability to work collaboratively through various departments and functional areas, promoting a culture of proactive teamwork. + Current or recent experience in a large, highly matrixed company, with proven ability to influence leaders and key stakeholders in such an environment + Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the polish, poise, and executive presence that will ensure effective interaction with senior and executive level audiences + The ability to clearly explain complex ideas and technologies to non-technical audiences + Master's in a relevant technology field (MBA preferable); Bachelors degree is required.
