Position Summary

The Chief Financial Officer reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer, is a member of the Executive Management team, and will assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for the planning, implementing, managing, and controlling of all financial-related activities of the company.  This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, treasury, budgeting, financial analysis, insurance, credit, and retirement plan functions.

 

Founded in 1952, Jubitz Corporation is a privately held company located in Portland, Oregon. Jubitz currently has 16 operating Departments that provide a wide range of services and products to travelers.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assess and evaluate financial performance of the organization and its departments in regard to operational goals, inventories, product margins, operating expenses, budgets, and strategy.
  • Assist Department Managers with their financial goals and objectives.  Provide direct analysis of Departmental financial opportunities, make suggestions for operational improvement, assist in budgeting, provide advice and recommendations.
  • Manage the Accounting group to assure accurate and timely financial processing, statements, analysis, and reports. Review all financial information for accuracy.
  • Maintain and work to improve company-wide internal controls and processes.
  • Evaluate acquisition or market opportunities using complex financial modeling.
  • Manage the Credit department to assure Customer credit levels are appropriately established and monitored to protect the company from credit risk. Work directly with Customers to negotiate and resolve credit issues.
  • Maintain the banking relationship, monitor daily banking activities and cash flow, oversee investment of cash reserves, assure Company meets all bank covenants, prepare bank compliance reporting.
  • Oversee, negotiate and monitor all company PC & L insurance plans. Maintain the insurance broker relationship. Monitor and negotiate claims for satisfactory resolution.
  • Maintain the CPA relationship and work with the CPA’s on the Company’s annual financial review, tax return preparation, shareholder tax distributions, and financial or tax analysis.
  • Prepare and present financial information and analysis in a clear, concise and meaningful manner to the company’s Department personnel, Senior Team, and the Board of Directors.
  • Oversee Monitor and assure SALT and regulatory tax compliance for multiple states.      
  • Oversee the administration and compliance of the Company retirement plan
  • Establishing credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges
  • Performing other work-related duties as assigned

 

 

 

 

 

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required
  • MBA or CPA highly preferred
  • Minimum 3 years CFO level experience with an entity of at least $50 million in revenues is required
  • Experience in transportation/commercial fueling, hospitality, and/or retail is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to make effective and persuasive presentations.

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills required.   Ability to positively interact with a wide range of personalities.

  • Strong computer/software skills and aptitude to include Microsoft office programs (Excel, Power Point, Word) , data and financial software, report writing, and POS systems.

  • Sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
  • Excellent negotiation skills with experienced in contracts, regulatory compliance, and risk management
