Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Director, Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance for University Ethics and Compliance. This position reports to the Senior Vice President and Chief Enterprise Risk, Ethics, and Compliance Officer as part of Rutgers University Ethics and Compliance. The Director, Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance guides the University's ERM program to identify, analyze, and oversee the management of risks throughout Rutgers; and also manages the University's institutional compliance officers, ensuring consistent design and execution among Rutgers compliance activities.
Among the key duties are the following: Works with the Senior Vice President and colleagues within University Ethics and Compliance to nurture a culture focused on identifying and mitigating risks to the University's ability to achieve its strategic and operational objectives.
Designs, manages, and executes the University's enterprise risk management program to prioritize institutional risks for the Senior Vice President and other University leaders.
Directs and guides Rutgers' institutional compliance program to ensure consistent design, application, and approach among institutional compliance officers (i.e., Healthcare, Athletics, Research, Title IX, and other compliance officers within UEC).
Conducts and coordinates risk management workshops throughout the University to identify and score enterprise risks, identify opportunities for creating value, and prioritize risks associated with achieving organizational goals.
Works with business unit leaders to create and implement mitigation plans to manage identified risks, facilitating collaboration among unit leaders to mitigate risks which originate in one department but impact multiple units.
Manages and monitors the activities of the institutional compliance officers to ensure their alignment with UEC and University strategic and operational objectives.
Supervises and participates in the creation and delivery of compliance-related educational programs to enhance training and awareness of regulatory and policy compliance requirements.
Maintains working knowledge and understanding of current University policies and compliance requirements in areas of direct responsibility, including intercollegiate athletics, sponsored research, Title IX, healthcare, and other areas.

Preferred Qualifications:Advanced degree and/or professional certification in appropriate and relevant area preferred (e.g., CPA, MBA, JD, CFE, CCEP).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge and understanding of the higher education and healthcare compliance environment and ERM.
Experience analyzing organizational processes to facilitate the design, management, and execution of ERM.
Strong communication, interviewing, and team building skills.
Demonstrated ability to understand large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data and the ability to convey meaning.
Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment.
Ability to work with senior leaders to gain consensus on matters related to enterprise risk management and compliance strategy, planning, implementation, and reporting.
