Duties and responsibilities: - Maintain general ledger making adjustments to the chart of accounts as necessary. - Make all deposits for miscellaneous funds (all others than contributions), ACH deposits, stock. - Perform all accounts payable functions from reception of purchase order to payment of invoice along with year end 1099s to vendors. - Maintain accurate ACS database for all bank accounts including disbursements, deposits, and monthly account reconciliations. Transfer funds as needed. - Perform all functions of payroll from set-up of employee information for direct deposit payroll to payment of monthly pastor payroll, monthly preschool payroll, and biweekly payment of lay and nursery payroll. Complete reports and pay all monthly, quarterly, and yearly state and federal payroll taxes. Prepare and submit W2s. - Prepare and provide all budget worksheets, historical data, and other information needed by staff to prepare their yearly budgets. Input all completed worksheets to create yearly budget to be used in budget hearings and input final approved budget in ACS. - Responsible for completion of annual review by CPA firm - Provide financial reports for Finance Committee, Trustees, and others as needed. - Prepare financial section of Annual Report for Church Conference. - Prepare 50/50 Missions Report. - Serve as backup to Church Administrator in performing all functions relative to receiving, recording, and depositing weekly contribution. Help to maintain member accounts, including adding and correcting of member information and maintenance of fund accounts. - Attend regular staff meetings and various committee meetings as needed. - Benefit administration (403b, Health, Life, Disability).
- Extensive accounting background in payroll processing, accounts payable and receivable, and non-profit accounting, preferably churches - Effective communication skills, both oral and written - Strong ability to multi-task and time management skills - Attention to detail - Must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality. - Proficient with standard office equipment (ie: copy machine, facsimile, postage mchine, folding machine, 10 key calculator, etc.) h) Proficient in Microsoft Windows and various applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint i) Experience preferred in Church-specific software: ACS
